The Indian Tree Home Owner’s Association is the group of people living in the 72 houses located on West 72nd Place in Arvada. It was formed in 1972 when the homes on the street were built to keep the lines of communication open with the builder. We are now a group of neighbors caring about one another.
The neighborhood of Indian Tree is very unique. The atmosphere around here is very much like a small town. Neighbors care about one another—waving as they pass by, stopping to chat as they mow their lawns, feeding each other’s pets or picking up the mail while neighbors are on vacation. When trouble enters our lives, our neighbors are there to lend a helping hand. Snowstorms have seen us helping each other shovel snow or at least calling to see what help a neighbor might need. Indian Tree is a refreshing oasis in the middle of a big city. We are very proud of our neighborliness.
Annual membership dues are only $20.00 a year. All money collected goes right back into our community through family events and activities. Regardless of membership, everyone receives a street directory and monthly newsletter to keep them informed about special happenings on the street. Everyone on the street is eligible to be on the ITHOA Board, with the new year starting in March.
Easter finds the children and grandchildren searching once again for candy and eggs, playing games and visiting with the Easter Bunny at Emil Schneider park. On May 1st, May Day Baskets are delivered to each family on the street. You will love the experience of the 4th of July Parade and Picnic! Kids, adults and pets all join in as we show off the red, white and blue through decorated people, pets, bikes, wagons, cars, and so on. The Arvada Fire Department even kicks of the parade for us. Following the parade is a picnic in the park which is always a blast. In September the association hosts a Fall Festival in the park. Each year there is a special theme with food, dancing, costumes, games, socializing and laughter! December brings the Children’s Christmas Party, complete with food, crafts and even a visit from Santa himself! The “big kids” also get to join in the Christmas cheer at the adult Christmas party.
ITHOA is so much more than just special events. Each December the association adopts a family not as fortunate as ourselves. We open our hearts and pocketbooks so that the family will have a joyous holiday season. We also sponsor various events such as Coats for Colorado. In addition, we have a welcoming committee that specializes in greeting new families to the street. Last but not least, every year neighbors plants and maintain the flowers that beautify our park. These are just a few of the activities and events that the association sponsors throughout the year. As you can see, Indian Tree Village is a wonderful place for family and friends.
